I thought I got messages in my inbox but I wasn't sure what it was till I found out that it was a gallery change in all of them. Thought it was fans that wanted me back in the ring lol. I'm not returning at all after dislocating my shoulder and doctor telling me no more. But, I will stick to the new rules nevertheless.

That should be a bannable offense. Artists get very mad when you take their art and post it without permission. they get 1000x more pissed when their name or watermark is taken OFF their art. And as a member of Deviant art, I know that is get pissed when my art is stolen and changed without my permission or recognition (along with fellow artists and a few videographers). Despite what you may think; that is a problem and it is looked down upon.

I will obey the rules of this site as put down by RobM and the other Admins.

All I was saying is that many artist are to uptight about there works being see on other places then it would be best not to post them at all.

There are ways to keep people on websites from saving pics to ones hard drive by restricting the right click "save as" command. Been to many sites where this happens. If they would install a prorgam like that into the site design then it would keep there art all to themselves on their own sites and never have to worry about this.

Also I have the right to freedom of speach about this and all subjects like any other free US resident.

All I am saying is that the websites that have those "Don't repost" sayings need to find better ways to keep them from getting taken from their sites in the first place!

Theft isn't covered by freedom of speech, and those websites will typically have somewhere that their pictures are their intellectual property and that it is covered by Creative Commons, which is pretty much as good as a copyright. Also most websites have a rule saying if it's not yours, and you don't have permission, don't post it or use it.

In short, Don't Do It. It's problematic and troublesome from start to finish.


But I am done with the rant. I am happy for these changes. While I by no means want the site to become PG site, but I agree with the Hardcore Yaoi belonging in only the Hardcore Yoai gallery and in personal galleries.

Sounds rather... ignorant.

First, you arn't in the US, you're on the internet, on a website hosted under UK internet legistlation. If you want to claim freedom of speach you have to do it under your Human Rights legistlation, article 19 (Which the US probably fought against as hard as they do every other united nations document that makes it harder for them and other global entities to exploit people in foriegn countries :P). Being a yank has nothing to do with it and will get you laughed out the door any time you try and complain that your amendments arn't being respected - Ai owns this site and is a benign dictator, if he bans you forever from this site writing to your congressmen is going to be a short excercise in futility.

Also, the founding fathers whom your taking on the historical mantle of, did not and would not approve of copyright theft. In fact, they'd be rather pissed off, no?

Art posted to this and other sites is by artists who reserve ALL rights to their artwork, under the DMCA they can (and in some cases, have) successfully sued ISPs and websites for intelectual theft - even the theft of fanart and fanfiction! You just have to be the creator of the work, not of the characters~

Adding things to make it hard to save the work? Its our job to make it harder for the thieves? Well, here's a dose of reality, people who break the laws are very often a lot more creative and inventive than those who make them. It takes all of about ten seconds to find your way around those sites that have such protection (or at least, thats how long it takes me, I don't know about you).

For what its worth to Thorkittys post, Creative Commons and other copyleft agreements are something the artist must voluntarily subscribe to, otherwise all their creations as artists are copywrited by defualt, with no requirement to notify anyone. You are the Creator. It is Your Work and You reserve All Rights.

So, tankcop, please stop whining like a very stereotpyical american about rights he thinks he has but clearly doesn't fully understand.

Artists don't like having their art ripped off. Just read what the artists had to say here as opposed to the free-market minded theives that were doing the selling.
